KINDNESS CHALLENGE

This month’s Kindness Challenge was inspired by the London Marathon!
We help to change lives every week of the year with 52 Lives, and so this month’s challenge is for you to do a 52 Challenge!
Can you use the number 52 in a positive way to be kind to your mind and body? Watch Greig’s video for examples and get creative.

You (with an adult) just need to post or email in with a picture and description of what you have done for a chance to win a £10 book or toy voucher and a kind book bundle for your school.
Have fun!

Deadline: 29th May.

Kindness in Action

This month, four incredible people ran The London Marathon for us at 52 Lives! We would LOVE you to help us to thank them for their incredible effort of running a WHOPPING 26.2 miles! We think that they would LOVE a card or picture with a ‘well done’, ‘you are amazing’ ‘thank you for making a difference’ (or any other message that you think they would enjoy). Thank you for helping us!

Your cards can be sent to Kids’ Kindness Club, PO Box 3154, Reading, RG1 9AT.

The latest Kind News is IN and it is filled with lots of stories to make you smile.

SHOW AND TELL

Kings Worthy Primary School’s Kindness Ambassadors came up with some positive words and a kind parent artist Jo Burgess (@green.magpie) brought their ideas to life by adding them to all of the mirrors in the school (with Posca pens) even the adult toilet mirrors!

We think they are SO joyful!

Well done!

Book of the Month

The Friendship Bench by Wendy Meddour (author) and Daniel Egneus (illustrator)

This is a beautiful story about kindness and new friendships. Tilly has just moved to a new house and is starting a new school. Inside is full of strangers and she is worried. When she is found on her own, Tilly’s teacher suggests that she tries something called a Friendship Bench – but when Tilly gets there, somebody is already on it…

Extra Activities

Our ambassador and artist, Stacie Swift, has created a two page activity sheet, supporting Mental Health Awareness Week this month (11-17th May) and the theme of ‘take action’. This will helps to show you that when action is taken, it helps others and improves your own mental health – you can even create your own comic strip!

Self-Kindness tip of the month:

In May we have Mental Health Awareness Week – and we love looking after our minds.
This month, we are inviting you to try a new evening routine. Take some time before bed, to either think about (or write down) three things that you’re proud of from that day. By doing this, you are boosting your self-confidence and wellbeing and you will start to notice even more positive things that make you proud.
